Authentic Replica Frames for Civil War & Historical Enthusiasts!
Battlefield McCallisters – Civil War Era Eyeglasses Frames
Battlefield McAllister eyeglasses were carefully created for historical enthusiasts such as Civil War or colonial reenactors. In fact, the propmaster for the broadway musical Hamilton ordered five Battlefield eye frames for the touring company!
These durable steel alloy metal frames mimic the timeless and elegant look of the rounded oval eyewear shape of the 18th and 19th centuries. The 42 mm eye size easily fits a large man's head as well as a petite woman's slender face. The bridge rests comfortably upon the nose via the "saddle bridge" commonly used during the era. The arms on the McAllisters are also quite unique: straight with a slight curve, inward toward the head, at the ends. This completes the antique look while also providing great comfort. The length has been designed to easily adjust for a large or narrow head.
These eyeglasses – similar to Windsors and Peabody-Pierce #23 – are an authentic finishing touch to a fine historical impression, completing a period costume, or a uniquely comfortable pair for everyday wear.
Please note: No discounts are applied towards the purchase of these frames and an eyeglass case is not included with purchase. Also, McAllisters are available with only one of the following lens options:
